Australian Developmental Curriculum

Welcome to Walker Learning, the home of the Australian Developmental Curriculum (ADC).

The ADC is rapidly being implemented by 1000's of schools around Australia. The Australian Developmental Curriculum is revolutionising primary school teaching approaches through an evidence based pedagogy.

The Australian Development Curriculum has been developed by Kathy Walker and is based upon sound realities of children’s development, family and cultural influences and provides the most appropriate ways of helping to engage children in truly meaningful and relevant strategies that enhance not only literacy and numeracy but motivation and self esteem.

Kathy Walker began her teaching in the early childhood years of education. Kathy began her academic career at Swinburne and then at RMIT University for 15 years in early childhood, primary and adult education. During her time at RMIT, she commenced consulting with schools on how to increase student engagement through effective teaching and learning strategies. Kathy's areas of expertise are curriculum and child development from birth to12 years.

  • Evidence Based Pedagogy - Teaching methods have been developed through real evidence based research and analysis.
  • Rigorous Research and Theory - Over 5 years of design, development and empirical curriculum testing.
  • Exciting and Refreshing Philosophy - Places the child at the centre of the curriculum and teaching strategies.
